My newest Netflix obsession is "Queer Eye," a reboot of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" from the early to mid 2000's. The premise is pretty much the same. Five fabulous gay guys do a complete makeover of a straight guy that is down on his luck and needs to snap out of his funk. But this new version is such a revelation. Maybe it's because I'm now watching through my own openly gay eyes but this show is hitting me in all the right places. Trust me, you'll start out laughing at each episode but by the end you'll be moved to tears. Yes tears!!! The new "Fab 5" the show has assembled to put on these magical makeovers is really a wonderful group of guys. Bobby Berk is the home designer who will absolutely WOW you every episode with what he comes up with. Antoni Porowski is the dreamy chef who is so damn cute it doesn't matter what meals he cooks up because he can do no wrong in my eyes. Jonathan Van Ness is the grooming expert who is hilarious and is the one who yells out "yaaasss queen" when a guy is using a water pick for the first time. Yup that happens and it was glorious! Tan France is the fashion expert and his British accent and wonderful style will work its magic on you. And finally Karamo Brown is the culture expert who along with being an absolute hottie is very charming and will make you google him only to find that yes he is that guy from the Real World! Guys, this show is absolutely wonderful. In these polarizing times it's a show that brings people together. All of the episodes take place in Georgia and seeing the Fab 5 work their magic there is something to see. And there's one episode that isn't a straight guy getting help but a halfway closeted guy who The Fab 5 help come into his own. Tissues people, you'll need them! This is a show to treasure. Be careful if you binge it too quickly. You'll be sad it's over. Yaaasss Queen!!!!
